Buquet Table Lamp EB 27 Sterling Silver

Édouard-Wilfrid Buquet, 1927

The EB 27 is a luminaire defined by balance. Its articulated arms, finely calibrated counterweights and compact reflector combine technical precision with an almost weightless elegance.

Édouard-Wilfrid Buquet designed the two-armed desk lamp in 1925. On 9 February 1927, at 4:29 p.m., he registered a patent with the French Ministère du Commerce et de l’Industrie, in particular for its movable components and joints. Until the 1940s, this remarkable construction was produced in a variety of versions.

The EB 27 Sterling continues the historic design in an especially elaborate and even more refined material interpretation. All components bear the 925 fineness mark. Compared with the standard version, the form of the base has been brought even closer to the historic original. The counterweights consist of a 925 sterling silver casing, enclosing a brass weight that ensures the lamp’s precise balance.

This makes the exceptional quality of the construction even more apparent: the EB 27 Sterling is not merely a luminaire, but a carefully crafted object of light, mechanics and precious material. The side of the base is stamped with TECNOLUMEN, BWKS, crescent moon and crown, 925, Handarbeit and the consecutive number.

Each luminaire is consecutively numbered and bears the TECNOLUMEN mark.
